GS1 Standards in the Construction Industry
GS1 standards are the most widely used in supply chains in the world. The most used sector is the so-called Fast Mover Consumer Goods (FMCG). Through the use of GS1 standards companies in this sector have modernized and their business became more efficient and secure.
The challenge we would like to propose to students is to develop a study that will measure the direct impacts such as cost reduction and indirect impacts as greater traceability that the use of GS1 Standards could bring to the construction sector. This sector will benefit from standardization and it is GS1 Portugal's belief that the gains will be huge for all players of this sector.
