Meet the speakers:

José Martins Soares - José runs the equities business at JB Capital Markets, based in Madrid. Jose has over 23 years in Equities, in several research and sales roles, in Lisbon, Madrid and London. He joined JB Capital Markets in June 2016 as a Managing Director to create the Portuguese equity research product. Previously he was a Senior Managing Director at Haitong Bank, formerly known as BESI, from 2009 to 2015. He re-joined BESI in July 2009 from Morgan Stanley, in London, where he was an Executive Director in their Institutional Equities Division. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2005 first as a Specialist Salesperson in Utilities & Clean Energy and then Metals & Mining. In 2004, Jose ran BESI’s Equity Sales desk, and from 1999 to 2004 he was an equity analyst with JPMorgan's European Telecoms team in London. Prior to joining JPMorgan, he worked as an Iberian equity analyst for several local Spanish and Portuguese brokers including AB Asesores/Mello Valores and NCO Dealer, where he started his career in 1996. Jose graduated in Economics from Nova School of Business & Economics in 1996. Aside from his native Portuguese, he speaks Spanish, English and French fluently.

João Pinto - João works as an Associate in the Equity Research team at JB Capital Markets, where he covers Food Retail & Materials, having joined in October 2017. He started his career at Haitong’s Iberian Equity Research department in July 2016. Before joining JB Capital Markets, João was an Associate in the Asset Management team at Haitong Bank. He has a MSc degree in Finance from Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics and holds a bachelor degree in management from ISCTE Business School. João was member of the winning team of the National Phase of CFA Institute Research Challenge 2016 in Portugal and represented his university, Católica-Lisbon SBE, at the Regional Phase of the completion in Chicago, IL. João is a native Portuguese speaker and speaks English and Spanish fluently.

Carlota Fidalgo Graça - Carlota moved to Madrid from London and joined JB Capital Markets in February 2019 as part of the Equity Sales Trading team. Carlota finished her double Masters degree in International Finance and CEMS MIM program at Nova School of Business and Economics and HEC Paris in May 2018. Following this, she started her career as a graduate at BNP Paribas CIB in London, working in the EMEA eFX Sales team. Throughout her academic life, she has had several international experiences and completed different internships in financial markets. Aside from her native Portuguese, she is fluent in English and Spanish.
